I’m grateful I got to spend time with my beautiful sister and her family recently. As always, we made time for a mini photo shoot. Here are some of my faves.
I haven’t done very much shooting lately. It’s unfortunate, because it really is a great source of stress relief for me. I was recently asked if I could send a friend (who is also interested in photography) “a couple” of my favorite photos. I took that quite literally, and picked only two to share. I have taken a lot of photos, and it was really hard to pick just two! I thought I would share them here.
My most favorite photo is of my daughter, Heather. I caught her in a quiet moment…which is extremely hard to do. Maybe that’s why I like it so much. She is so active and she moves all the time! I like it because while she is extremely quiet and still, for her, it still shows her playfulness and childishness because she is peeking out the window (after hiding). Every time I look at this photo, I think, “Man, I love that girl so much!” That’s what I hope to accomplish with my photography. Even if I never go pro, or even charge for my services, I want people to look at my photos and first think of how much they love the subject before thinking of anything else.
This photo also has the general feel that I want my photography to have. Since this was kind of one of those “accident” photos, I still have to work to make all my photography have this feel.
This is another favorite photo. I love the place, I love the vibrancy of the colors, and I like the overall feel of the photo. I am planning on replacing the photo of the Mount Timpanogos temple we already have hanging up, with this one. Although, the longer I look at it the more things I see that I need to fix, or that annoy me…the green light in the flower bed, the people in the back ground, and also it’s a tad bit off center. NEVERTHELESS, it is still a favorite!
I love maternity photo shoots! I love seeing and feeling the joy that soon to be mommies have, and even some of the apprehension for the next coming months. This is the darling momma of (now) 2 beautiful girls. How lucky they are to have her as a mommy!
And then we noticed a puddle and couldn’t resist some classics. If you’ve ever been pregnant, I am sure this has happened to you. Although maybe not to this extent…
